Reputable AUTO SHOP in Long Island??
I'm buying an '89 GT Conv on Friday and the owner has allowed me to bring it to a shop for a full analysis prior to purchase.
Only problem is that I don't live out there and I'm not aware of a reputable shop that could do this for me.
Anyone have any ideas?? What is considered a reasonable cost to have a mechanic look over the car and perform the appropriate tests?? (i.e. AC, emmissions, various mechanic, visual, etc)?
I've personally gone over the car and with my weekend warrior experience have only noticed two problems which were obvious - AC blows warm, eng temp gauge does not work.
Drive train is incredibly strong...engine pulls hard from all gears, tranny shifts well, suspension acts normally - no unusual noises from any major component.
Thoughts?
