Hey everybody, im new to the forums, and pretty new the the 5.0's. I am 16 and looking to buy my first car and I want it to be a mustang 5.0. I was just wondering which is the best year?? which years are not so good?? Are there any probems to watch out for with these cars??

personally i really like the 89's they still have the forged pistons fuel injected and none of that SD crap a nice MAF Set up but then again im biased lol

I like the 85-86 style, T-tops are always a bonus if you can find one. Only down side are the changes to the 86 motor.

it all depends on what the car will be used for.

IMO the best street car 5.0 would be the sn95, while the best car for a drag setup would be a fox.

whats fox?? But I am looking at a clean 88 and 86 right now. What bad about the 86 motors??

a fox would be either of teh two cars your looking at, a fox is the 5.0 with a body like the one in explosives signature, while an sn95 is a 5.0 with a body like the one in either my signature or 945LSTANG's signature, the sn95 cars that have 5.0's in them are only the 1994 and 95 models

the motor in the '86 was a pig... sure it had fuel injection, but it also had a drop in horsepower from the '85-86 year

horribly restrictive heads and intake, flat top pistons, it was just a bleh motor....

and if you like the 4 eye, and want an 85, stay away from Autos, the CFI is not fun...

oh i see, well hopefully I will be buying one within the next couple weeks, here is a 91 that I really like that I am leaning towards right now, but the 88 is really clean. so I pretty much have 4,000 to spend, and I was thinking spendind around 3,000 for a car, then spend the other 1000 on new parts.
