Default C9 Windsor stock rods

I have a chance to pick up a 69 windsor. It has stock crank and rods. I'm not worried about the crank but i do have reservations about the stock rods. Does anyone have any idea as to how much power they are safe to. I know any rod can fail anytime...but i'm just looking for a general consensus and maybe personnel experience. The heads are c9 heads that have been worked for 2.02 valves also. Compression is 11.5. I'm asking becuase i'd like to run a 150-200 shot on motor.[/align]

The windsor rod is the sore spot, 450-500 MAX, they will break at the beam

Thanks for the info woodsy. I might be trading my car for another. The engine isnt as stout as mine but the body, suspension and the c9 blockmight have me trading. It has the original heads worked to 2.02 valve's and stock crank and rods. Runs 7.26 on motor...might have to wait to spray it till i get better internals.

Question about the c9 heads. Can the valves be opened to 2.02? I was reading elsewhere and it was said that the largest on these heads is 1.94 valves?

^^^^^^^I think I may have seen a 2.02 in a set before but they were crammed in there and reworked.. I have 1.94/ 1.50's in mine(c9oe heads)and 1.50's not 1.60's cause then I believe it'd need more seat work
