To tell you the truth most of the time you don't need that hanger. But it does help when installing it.

thanks for the feed back, that's the way i thought it went on. I had a 79 capri that i didn't have that hanger on but had the exhaust put on at a shop i'm doing this at the house and i'll need all the help i can get.
