Default my new sucky personal best

my mods are a 306 with the b cam bbk o/r pipes and their shorties t-5 mgw short shifter
8.8 3:73 gears 17" cobra r's with some bald general tires i ran a 15.1 at 93.25 mph spinnning through 1st and 2nd and chirping through 4th my best 60 ft tonight was a 2.226
i got a holley 650 and the secondary barrels aint opening and only have 3/4 throttle because my cable is too long the next test and tune is next week b4 i run it i'm gonna do a tune up, fix the carburetor, and put pony wheels all the way around with brand new tires on the back that actually have some tread on them and get a shorter accelarator cable

i ran 5 times last nite my slowest was a 15 .9 (1st run of the night) and my best (the last) was a 15.1 my mph's were consistent with the lowest being a 92.09mph the guy that done all the welding on my rear end put a holley 750 double pumper on it and it ran more sh**** than with the 650 i guess because the fuel pump couldn't keep up what should the timing be set at (cause he set it last night with a light) it didn't feel as strong as it usually does he said it was at 45 and set it at 35 i use my ear to set the timing not a light

OKAY YOU GOT TWO PROBLEMS I see:
#1 you can't set timing by ear and get it close to correct setting where it performs best, initial should be 13-15 max with a total of 34-36 max, any more or less expect less than desirible results
#2 750 is way to big for a stock to mild 302 as is most likely a 650 dp, you need a properly tuned 600, bigger is not better for the 302, to give you an idea, I have a 650 dp on my 347 and it is perfect for it

by just snapping the throttle sitting still you won't see them if you open the throttle to wot briefly, if you snap it wide enough and quick enough before it tacs out you may see them to start to move but testing vaccum secondaries is done under a load at Wot
