Converting to EFI

Converting to EFI
I know I'm probably going to hear about this not being a Mustang AND I'm a n00b, so let it fly. I'm dropping a carbed 302 into my 1980 Jeep CJ-7. I have already purchased the complete EFI system from a 1990 Mustang 5.0L and plan on installing it. I've read a little about the firing order differing from the carbed 302 to the EFI 5.0L. Is there a chip that will allow me to maintain the firing order I have or will I have to convert to a new firing order. If you think I deserve to be heckled, let 'er rip. If you have some insight, please do share. Thanks for your time.
P.S. Once I decide that I'm proficient in everything 5.0L, I DO plan on getting a '92ish Mustang and building it to the limits of my wallet! By that time I should have my Mechanical Engineering degree and my pockets should be pretty deep.

So if I change the cam, do I have to change the crankshaft as well? I thought that cranks were set up to run a certain firing order. I appreciate the patience. Like I said before, I'm a n00b and this is really my first ever engine mod.
