Default What does this look like to you

This is my brothers engine. for 2 years, weve been under the impression it was a 347, but im starting to doubt this assumption, can you guys take a guess? is it a 302, or a 347?

i was hoping you would be able to tell by the depth of the pistons, the only think we know that its a 347 by was our mechanic saying, thats not a stock 302, but IIRC, the depths were the same between the two

do those pistons look aftermarket to you?

the only way to see is if the bottom of the cylinders were notched. the pistons wouldnt prove anything except there maybe aftermarket

measure from the top of the deck to the top of the piston as you turn it around until the piston is at the bottom of its stroke...3.00=302 crank 3.25=331..3.40=347

did he run it at the track and if so what setup and how fast

heres some pictures from my tear down.

mine's been rebuilt, but stock pistons.


to me it looks like the pistons in your picture are different.


EDIT: gaskets are still on in my pic's, ill take some better pictures in the morning, and post em up
