Short stroke and big bore is the right combo for power and high revs. More cubes = more power

Dart sportsman block, 4.185 bore x 3.5 stroke = 385 cubes

You won't find a set of heads out of the box that will feed that much air. Look at custom builders like RHS.

Cam stability will also be tough. Seriously consider shaft rockers.

Building an engine like this is not to be taken lightly. Things happen fast and hard at 8,000 rpm's. You need to know what you're doing. You need to know the multitude of small tricks that are not in the book. In other words, you need experiance. If you can afford to learn from your mistakes, I strongly suggest you try it yourself. But, if you can't afford to blow the engine on a regular basis, you should hire a pro.

I would suggest Mike Forte or Gordon Levy.

id actually go with the boss block, i think you can take them 4.125 bore with 3.250 crank gives you 347cubes, with some hi ports ported by TEA

I was gonna mention a 289 too, heard they like to rev

and 3 inches may be a little excessive... the 1.5 inch set doesnt look that bad

maybe maybe not, i dont think it will be excessive if it works, lol

i think if im going with an aftermarket block, it would be pretty pointless to destroke it to 289

Okay, my "revised" list (note i had an epiphany and i realized that i was shooting for things that are way out of my reach at this point, so ive revised my expectations , 7k will probably be plenty, but im guessing that more stable torque curves and such are more important than revving it to kingdom come)

How does this sound

Dart Block( i still want it to last through heavy cycling) Stock Dimensions (4.000 bore and 8.2 deck, right?)
347 Forged Rotating assembly. (what brands? what material, steel, aluminum?)
Cylinder Heads, Should i just stick with the 205 AFR's or spring for some 212 canfields or something?
Cam=Custom from Jay

Intake= What brand, should i just get a single plane edelbrock? With a 750, or should i start with a 650?

More important stuffs, FUEL SYSTEM should i stick with the stock setup or what. Im under the impression carbed setups require volume, not so much PSI. would a stock 155 or whatever lph pump fit this. Can i even run this with a carb?

okay, i guess i should go to bed, and probably start focusing on the chevelle, none of this is gonna happen until that is done, but a man can dream cant he?
