No inspections here in Michigan. Cops don't hassle you for cats either.

I have been given a fix-it ticket for loud exhaust though...

Wayyyyy back in high school, my '84 Charger had a huge rip in the muffler and sounded like ***. I had the replacement muffler in a box on the front seat, and was on my way from the store to the school auto shop to weld it on. I was polite and explained the situation, but the bitch cop gave me a ticket anyway.

Cops never had problems with any of my Mustangs' exhausts. Some of the exhaust systems were much louder than the Charger ever was....except they sounded good.

I got pulled over for a loud stereo system and I pulled off the road up another which had a steep incline so I had to rev my engine, he asked me if I had an aftermarket exhaust, i said no and he said ok.

and during inspection time, it def pays to know someone

I live in Indiana and have been driving without cats since i was 16. They were just one more thing to go wrong.

Yup, my exhaust for my truck is being done today and I've having the cats removed. Michigan FTW.
