wait a tick were you refering to the tubular gt 40 explore intake or an actual cobra intake
try a bigger fuel pump adjustable regulator some bigger injectors and a calibrated meter AFM power pipe , hows about a bigger t body light weight fly wheel you will lose som bottom end TQ but it will rev a little quicker, throw a 1 inch spacer to the intake a set of power heads or just a regular set of 40's i know it wont make more hp but lose some weight put the car on a diet
hope to have helped some

OK, to clear things up. I 'thought' I was getting a tubular gt40 intake from my buddy but that fell through. Right now I have the explorer intake but looking at other possibilities. I was looking at the Cobra upper/lower intake manifold kit from jegs for $409. How will that work out?
