Default I guess this happens when u buy a car you dont know anything about

I recently bought a black on black 95 cobra with 58k on the clock. Ran good, sounded good, so i bought it. A week later the CCRM went out, causing it to overheat, but no big deal i fixed it. Then i noticed It detonated like hell which i didnt notice before i bought the car, turns out it had like 29 degrees of base timing, brought it down to 12 to get rid of the ping. The dealership advertised it accordingly, "this beautiful stroker engine cobra has edelbrock performer rpm heads, custom cut cam, and laid down an impressive 360 RWHP!!!!". Took it and had it dynod on the dynojet, it laid down an "impressive" 284rwhp and 304rwtq. So much for this hyped up stroker being stroked \=. Looks like im throwing the S-trim i have for it on as soon as i get Injectors MAF and pump.

Take it to the dealer and ask them where they got their numbers from and then show them what the dyno got.

thaats a let down. how long ago did you buy it. did they say what it was stroked to. cause that more like 302 numbers not stroker, and not that impressive of ones either.

maybe it needs a tune up, does it run well?

id check to see if its a stroker, you can measure the stroke fairly easy, but i dont knnow whats what. someone else here would let you know im sure.

Its DEFINITELY not stroked.... and yes, they advertised the hell out of the fact that it was indeed stroked. what it laid down is common H/C/I numbers. It has the stock cobra intake, professional products TB, edelbrock heads, but i have no part #, and what sounds to be a monstrous cam. It just sucks because i bought it from a REPUTABLE mustang dealer and for them to falsify like that doesnt make sense to me.

on a side note, you think it would be safe to boost that bitch 10#s and drive it everyday?????

if i pull the VC's would i be able to find a part number on these heads?

id try and find out more about the cam before adding the s/c but everything else sounds like it would be fine for boost

Boost that baby and don't look back. Sorry to hear about the disappointing news however.

Yeah and if you have it in writing they misrepresented the car. Make them take it back!!

the previous owner may haven given them that dyno sheet... either from another car or combo... they may have not known, may have, only they know.
with the timing be that far out...what else is out...
i would be curious to see what pistons are in it, and what the top part of the cyl wall looks like...

honestly...those #'s you have arent but say 20hp/tq low, honestly.
do you even know if its a 331 or 347?
n/a on those heads and a stroker...they are a slight bottleneck imo, depending on rpm intended to use.
