my story vette encounter
ok, dont i like those who street race, its dumb and i dont promote street racing in any way....but i got a killer story for you
driving the 5.0 around this afternoon after work and i stop at a red light at a newly paved intersection when a silver vette pulls up next to me (not z06 thats the only one i can tell apart from the rest, but it looked like a new-ish style, maybe an 01?) younger guy maybe in his 30's starts revvin the crap out of his motor at me slippin the clutch hard...so i rev back at him.
i totally took him off the launch, rolled out really hard at 3700rpm on the stock tach and she hooked sooooooooo beautifully, only a slight spin in the upper rpm's, on street tires!! slammed second(and for those of you who know my car my second is shot but i hit second without a grind or even a slight hesitation, i about schit my pants) and got a lil spin in second. slapped it into third for a chirp and looked beside me to find......
NOTHING!!
the vette was behind me by what i call a full car length if not better.
this FURTHER proves FORD stands for "Faster On Race Day"
just to refresh your memories. 3.73's, full drag suspension, street tires, stock heads, b cam, typhoon intake and all the other bolt ons you can think of.(except underdrives)
this winter is t5 rebuild, MT ET streets and hi compression heads /w new cam suggested by MJR. i see 12's in my near future and with any luck and a shot of juice this spring 11's will light up on my board

first "real" ish fast car i've raced. i've smashed plenty of ricers on a second gear pull. or i'll rap out first and let them catch up and then mash on second. "dude i almost had you"......you almost had me? you never even had your car!
