will put me in the 12 sec. range with a $1000 budget right now it is a 306 block with the E-cam, p&p E7's, and performer 289 Edelbrock intake. I think a mid 12 sec. car will be a good street car for me. I was thinkin of getiing the Edelbrock performer haeds or just the gt40's but don't know which would be better bang for the buck

really you'd need to reconfigure your whole h/c/i, rpm heads, with a .530/.550 lift cam with some moderate duration, and an rpm air gap intake with 650 dp carb, with a similar set up/ 185 afr's and a 512 lift flat tappet cam and lw flat top forged pistons I ran a 12.79@105

I've got a Edy Upper and Lower, and RPM heads fit with 1.7 rollers and the E-303. That's what I decided to go with for my mild build. I am still waiting on shipment from the shop, but I can let you know how it goes whenever I get around to putting them in assuming they arrive before I'm 45.

- and if you were going to get GT40's, I'd go for some reworked GT-40P's, or get Tri-State's GT40P's for $580 shipped.

all you need is this issue's 5.0 mag and you can do it without touching your motor

i agree with MJR, you need to rework your top end with something that matches better.

Buy my patriots. Brand new, never used, still in box, fully assembled, 750$ shipped to whereever you want me to ship them to (compared to 950 + shipping, what they go for new) . Totally comparable to any high end aluminum heads out there, 2.02, 185cc intake. pm me for pics [=

Trickflow makes a pretty decently priced head

HEARD is the keyword here. dont spread false information when you have no idea what youre talking about. I took them to a highly reputable cylinder head service shop around here and they looked them over and said they seen no problems and they appeared to be a well performing head, which says a lot because these people are used to dealing with AFRs and edelbrocks. MM&FF made 300 wheel on a 302 with cobra intake and a wee steeda #19 cam, when my edelbrock performer rpm / custom cam / cobra intake made a whole 284 wheel. it doesnt get much more real world than that.

I have the AFR 185s and can vouch for them, and they are great! They're the first and only heads I've bought and hopefully I don't have to buy any other heads ever but if I were...I seriously don't know what I'd go with. Glad I could help
