Default Carb swap

So here I sit, deliberating over my car and what I wish to do with it.

The guy I bought the car from redid the entire electrical system for some reason, and I am unable to find a fuse box for this car! I've looked everywhere I can see without taking things apart, and I can't find it, so... what I think I'm going to do is carb swap and get a painless wiring kit for the chassis.

The problem is, aside from my knowledge of small engine carbs, I really don't know anything about them. I was hoping the oldschool knowledgeable people here could provide me a link to something that really goes in depth about how automotive carbs work, or maybe give me a nice tutorial.

no its not. all the wiring is wire tied and routed under the drivers kick panel, with no fuse box visible

look in the glove box or behind it or around the passenger side under the dash. those painless kits move the fuse box around so its there just somewhere else than the factory one.

i'll take another peek but i'm doubting that i'll find it. its my belief that everything is hard wired and mangled. i have no ignition buzzer, the fuel pump is continuous(doesn't prime), etc...

in any case i was hoping mjr would be able to link me to a carb walkthrough
