Where is Nitrous bob when you need em' lol. 3.73 for stick, and 4.10 for auto.

US Marine makes some good points, also I agree that even in stock form the fox is a relatively light small car and has gobs of torque.Even with 273's I can burn rubber all day. 355 seems like a good default ratio without running outa gear at the top end of power band.

the car is a manual, i dont plan on doing any boost maybe nitrous in the future but mainly its just a bolt-on daily driver

i average 18 mpg city and 23 freeway with my gearing
i just think 3.73 might be too short and ill have a hard timme with traction in the rain i drive in regularly

i have 18" centerlines with 225/40zr18 zexius tires im gonna go to 245 when i get new ones though

thanks for the input guys

haha yeah it was late and my brain was fried...

You won't go wrong with 3.55's. The difference between them and 3.73's is negligible and you'll have longer legs (better MPG and the potential for more top end). 4.10's are the cog for red light duals only. My buddy has them to make up for a HP difficient motor but just being a passenger in it makes my balls itch. So much shifting, so much over-revving and so few mpg's. Base your choice on your application. Look forward to more frequent clutch jobs too...

Oh and BTW, when I said HP defficient motor it's essentially the same as mine. He just thinks he can handle much bigger fish than he can. Traction is almost always a factor going against him as the 4.10's more or less negate any jump he should get. My car eats his alive. Suspension mods would turn the tables, but alas he has none...

3.73's isnt even a steep gear at all...most n/a guys with heads and cam run 4.30's....i think 3.73 is a nice all around gear...i'm not even close to toping out 1/4 mile wise with the 3.73's in my coupe...if you are toping out with 3.73's its cause your going pretty darn fast...heads and cam change your powerband too....mine is stock and runs great with 3.73's...it will work too if i run nitrous
