Default looking for some advice

hey guys I'm looking to make a reliable DD with a friend right now the car is still 100% stock and I'm looking to start the motor rebuild we're pulling it out and doing everything just wondering what kind of H/C/I combo i can come up with for under $1500 he wants to kind of budget the build but I know it can be done and still get some sort of nice power increase. thanks for the input.

^^ what he said.

also make sure to get(if budget allows) gears 3.73 for stick 4.10 for auto. u/l control arms, and stick tires.

that with the h/c/i it'll haul!

thanks for the help. yea the $1500 is only for the H/C/I I already have 3.73s and southside machine lowers and getting alum. driveshaft and pretty much new everything. so the best I can do for 1500 is gt40/cobra? where can I get the gt40 heads new?

when it's all said and done with gaskets and fluids and any new hardware needed and cost of heads cam and intake you'll be close to your budget, try ebay for the parts

find a totaled 5.0 ford explorer up to 1997.5

gank the heads and intake....

get a nice cam and some 1.7 RRs and your set....

after 97.5 they were GT40P heads, they sometimes need a different header and 90 degree sparkplug boots, but then give you a bump in compression, and from what I have heard around here, a small gain in power over GT40s...

try ebay first... saw an explorer intake, upper and lower, with injectors and fuel rails for 300 bucks... heads depending on where you go can be had for a few hundred.... saw a set go on ebay for 500... with valves and springs...
