Default Need Damaged C-Pillar Advice...

Hey everyone,

First post on a new forum. Anyways, I will cut to the chase. My brother in law owns several mustangs, one of which is a 1993 Mustang GT with a ton of work under the hood (more aftermarket parts then you can shake a stick at). He retired it to full on hobby status after purchasing a '95 5.0 for his DD. Shortly there after Orlando was hit by Charlie and a tree limb found it's place acrossed the back half of his '93.

It's been in the backyard since then, with a peice of hard plastic sealed where the rear window would reside. The rear hatch is crushed on the passanger side, as is the C-piller, badly.

I priced out a replacement rear hatch (fiberglass, PN# FH-7993H @ LMR) but cant find a single resource about repairing or replacing the c-piller. Is this something you would need to hacksaw off a wreck at the yard and weld in or is there another option?

My neice jsut turned tow years old, and he is hesistant to sell the car. I would love to make arrangments to work on it and purchase it from him in the future, but want to know what I would be facing. Any help, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

need lot of pics, its hard to say what you will be facing. how big of a limb was it. and it worse comes to it just by a rust free good roller, there cheap and swap everything over to it. might be cheaper this route plus you get alot of experience with the car

Yeah you really need pics, but depending on how bad it is, you could poss straighten it out and maybe put a bar inside it

I cant get pics right now, trying to keep my research under the radar, but surfice to say it was a large branch. At least 8 inchs of the pillar are crushed in about 4-5 inchs, jagged. As for switching everything over to a roller for experience sake, thats something I want to avoid entirely. I have been reading Fast Fords and 5.0 Mags since I was in middle school, and rebuilt all my engines myself so I avoiding a swap would be wonderful. :-p

Assuming the C-piller is structural, would hacksawing a replacement be feasible?
