Default Quesion about motor size

what combo would make a 5.0 able to reach 408? i dont know much about mustangs to know if it would take the cylinders being bored to thier max or not.

Yup, 347 is as big as you are getting with a 302.....with a factory block.....more can be achieved on an aftermarket block

363 inches is as large as you can go on a stock block

i am waiting to hear back from him today. If in fact it is a sb 351, how much would be left on the cylinders bore to take them out to 408 with the stroke? My fear is getting cylinders that are on thier last leg and I dont know it because I am new to Mustangs.

well if hes already taken the 351 and stroked it to a 408 thats about the most it going to go. the really only way to check the motor would be a compression test. my Father in law as a 68 with a 408 and that things a beast, power wise its very nice, but the condition of the rings and what not would be how hard its been drove. if you get it just make sure it has a good cooling system
