I've installed an lc-1 controller, but it used a summit gauge instead of innovates due to cheaper price.
I find them easy to work with & have had no problem with the car. I'm not entirely sure about innovates gauge, never used one.

I looked at those, but in the end I ended up getting The SM-AFR from PLX Devices. I liked the SM-AFR because it was only $200 including the wideband sensor. I ended up removing one of my stock narrowband sensors and replacing it with the wideband sensor, but I set it up so that it could emulate a narrowband as well. SO as far as the car / computer knew, everything was fine. And I could easily hook it up to the car's computer so that I could easily monitor and datalog wideband whenever I needed to. Worked out great!

someone should make a write up on how to use a wideband, becuase i'm definitely interested in getting one, but i'm a little worried that i won't be able to correctly use it or get its correct use out of it. if that makes any sense

It's not too difficult really. You basically place the wideband sensor in a bung in the midpipe (or in my case, replace a narrowband with a wideband.) Then you just get a gauge to read it or you can tap it into your EGR and run it straight through your car's computer.

It sounds complicated but it's really not. Using it or reading it is the easy part. The hard part is knowing what to do with the results you see on the gauge / meter. I see two basic uses for one... You can use it to tune your, and then you can use it to monitor your engine to make sure you're not too lean / rich.

how would these be usefull on a carbed car, other than knowing the AF ratio?

a wideband is used to know what the air/fuel ratio is.

I have the LC-1 wideband with the XD-16 gauge, I like how you can calibrate it before using it.
