i took a 6 hour trip today and picked up a 347 short block for my gt its a mexican block, with probe internals. the guy i bought it from had it built put about 700 miles on it and then desided to go with a turbo 351. it had a lil carbon on the pistons but it cleaned right off. i got all the build sheets with it almost 2000 invested an i paid 700 cash. he also has a custom camshaft inovations camshaft he had made for that motor that he threw in for 50 BUCKS! and i got the build sheet on that as well. he was running canfeld heads and its a 10.75 comp ratio with those. heres some pics

honestly i donno the deal with the paint when i bought it the motor, calipers and rear drums where painted that color. The PO was responsible, but you can tell that he pulled the motor to paint it. I think the motor that came in the car was a reman or at least the heads are cause they have the heat sensitive stickon things on them. i think im goanna paint the block red but i donno

In my opinion: Having a matched engine color tone to the same as the car looks pretty sick. Or a complimenting color that works with the body color works well too imo.

new motor sounds very similar to my setup. or atleast it was in the previous owners car. what are your plans for it the rest of the way? as far as intake/heads go. either way its looking good so far.
