Default 85 or 68?

Im getting bored with my 1992 lx even though it has 20,000 original miles I want something I can mod or work on. When I sell it I either want a four eye (an 85 preferably) or a 68 gt. Can you tell me what would be cheaper to get parts for and what is a better street machine. Also is there a significant weight difference? Any and all opinions welcomed!

You are kidding right? If not the 85 is going to be cheaper in every aspect. You could buy a small fleet of 85 Mustangs for what one nice 68 will run you. The Fox parts will be way cheaper but the 68 is an easier build providing it's rust free. It will be worth a lot more in the end. I've been building cars for a long time and my 85 LX Coupe is the first 80's+ full on build I've done for myself. I've kept all my builds on cars made from 1961-1972. If you can get the 68 for a decent price I wouldn't hesitate. The problem with building a car like mine is in the end I'll have a car with over 20,000 in and won't bring 10,000 on it's best day.

'85 the way to go IMO! ...Last year of the carb, light, just add an 8.8" rear and tour ready to rock!

What's the details on the 92 LX??

well I think the build on the 92 would be a sin since the damn thing is practically new, you can see some pics in my album but otherwise it has 19,800 original miles, k&n cold air intake, underdrive pulleys, h-pipe, flowmasters, 3.73 gear and thats it everything else is bone stock. No rust anywhere on the car even underneath, inside mint outside excellent. Go to www.midwestcarexchange.com I have it listed there for sale they have better pics of it than what I took.

do you think that it isnt worth that? I've searched others for sale and some are going for more money with considerably more miles. Anyway price is negotiable to a point. Its hard to find a 5.0 that didnt live quarter mile to quarter mile.
