Default Stock intake question

I recently got my motor rebuilt and bored to a 306. I had an explorer intake but found out that it had a crack in it when i took it off. My buddy had a stock upper and lower intake laying around so he gave it to me for free. My mods are: fresh 306, GT40P heads, E-303 cam, STOCK intake, 3.73's, pullies, longtubes, o/r h and MAC catback.

My question is, is the stock intake holding me back at all? I mean is it a big deal, or would a new intake free up some ponies?

Edit-- It's a '90 LX btw.

Thanks all.

Get your old intake welded. The stock intake is a POS. I would suggest the cheapest route would be to get the explorer intake welded. Thats the great thing about aluminum. It's easy to fix. You may want to look into a used Cobra inatke or a Edelbrock performer.

either have the intake repaired, or look for a gt-40 or cobra..= all the same potential as the explorer

As stated ^^^^, don't even bother with the stock intake...Get the intake welded or find a new/used intake!
