thats a bummer. i'm not a fan of t5's. when i bought my car it locked up in 3rd, i took it out and had it rebuilt. then a few months later the gears just blew apart and fell to bottom of case. took it out and had it rebuilt again. i just don't trust them.

I've seen that a few times. Time to put some money into it.

well its my second t5 and my other one lost the pocket/roller bearing between the input and out put and scored the out put shaft so its no good but between the 2 i have a nice full set of gears and i would just need a new input and use the second gear assembly in the bottom from my other t5 but i have a 1989 2.3l t5 in tip top shape and its most of the way in the car right now . they are rated at 240ft/lbs the 5.0 one is rated 265 which is still too weak since my 86 makes 285ft/lbs stock and 87-93 makes 300ft/lbs and use the same t5 except the 93 cobra t5 rated at 315.
Gforce makes a nice rebuild kit with straight cut gears
