Im pulling my hair out trying to decide on what wheels and tires to run on my 87 GT. Should i lean towards the drag car look with weld wheels 15x8's with 275/50-15 et street and 15x3.5s with 165r front runners OR 17" cobra R wheels with 245's and a lowered stance for a street car look. I like a car that gets alot of attention...

that really depends on what your gonna use the car for... is it a street strip car? or a DD. keep in mind your handling and braking capabilities will be reduced when running skinnies. and as for attention, everyone and their mom has cobra Rs.... lol

but with welds, you may run into negative attention, such as people revving at you wanting to race....

but your choice in wheel does come down to your intentions with the car

the car is a weekender.....just a toy....here in east tennessee everyone runs weld wheels because bristol dragway is just up the road so drag racing is pretty big. I would like to have a strip street car but the weld wheels look kinda plain. i could always buy the cobra r's then if i wanna go drag race bolt on a set of slicks on the factory pony wheels

Any other suggestions on wheels???
Most mustangs either have pony, welds, or cobra r's lol

I'd go with the Cobra R's...they always look good on a Fox body...Welds if you raced a lot!

Midnight purple...looks black but if you change angle you get a glimps of dark metal flake purple
