DONT FEEL BAD. I HAVE A 94 GT COUPE 5 SPEED I BOUGHT WITH 58K MILES BONE STOCK OFF AN OLD LADY. ORIGINAL EVERYTHING. I PUT 3:73S AND WELD IN FLOWS TO START. LAUNCHING IT AT THE TRACK, IT WOULD RIP EVERYONE I LINED UP WITH OFF THE LINE, BUT IT BEING STOCK WITH ALL THE STOCK CATS ON IT,STOCK PLUGS AND WIRES, OWNER SAID IT NEVER SAW PAST 4000 RPMS, ETC...I TURNED 16.0 AT 86 ALL NIGHT LONG. 1ST GEAR WOULD LANCH HARD WITH SOME SPINNING, THEN LOSE POWER AT 4500, BOG SECOND BAD, SHIFT AT 4500. CAR WITH STOCK TIMING AND ALL CATS ON IT ARE SLUGGISH AS HELL AND I DIDNT SEE ANY POINT IN REVING IT TO REDLINE BECAUSE IT DIDNT PULL MUCH PAST 4500. AND WHEN I LEFT THE TRACK THAT NIGHT, I DID CLEAN IT OUT. IT STARTED CHIPRING 2ND GEAR TO WHERE IT WOULD BEFORE LOL HA!

That '86 5.0 really isn't the motor for any kind of boost. He's REALLY limited on head choices, and those E6's are so restrictive that I'd bet at 15 psi, that car would still put down 230 hp. It's a shame really...

+1
Yeah, with the gears and dr's i can jump most things off the line, but always passed when i hit 55ish.
And the reason i cant use many heads is because of the pistons isnt it? I planned on completely redoing the engine, so ill pretty much just be using the 86 block in the end. Forged pistons, stroker crank, aluminum heads, ect...

doorstop...
now if he were to find a rebuilt motor with some GT40s on there, or even a low mileage 5.0 explorer (tho rare in my area/others as well) put in a good cam/valvtrain... he'll make some good power....
