Rim size

Rim size
Will a 9" rim with +20mm offset fit on the rear of my stock 89 gt?
If so, I'm looking for a rather tall tire, what would be a good size, so that i wouldn't have to roll fenders or touch the quads?
(I wouldnt mind going with a relatively thin tire, the whole purpose of the 9" rim is that they have a better look for the rear because of the lip style, than if I were to go 8" all around)
I've heard you can fit a 9" rim on with the right tire.
If its too close to rubbing then I'll just go with 8" all around, I dont feel like touching the quads or fenders.

I used the '95 Cobra R (17x9's) with a 24mm offset and 5.94" back spacing on my lowered 1991 Mustang GT....I had to reverse the quad shocks with the 275 tires out back, no rubbing problems.

275/??
I've been recommended 255/40/ by 50resto.com and 245/45 by americanmuscle.com
But I wouldnt mind flipping the quads at all, you think i could fit 275/45? or just 40's?
I will flip quads but i wont remove.

...not sure about that...255's still might hit...Trust me, those quad shocks will come off...unbolt quad shock from the rear axle first, then the body of your Mustang and rotate 180 deg. ...it will work!
