Default The good the bad and the ugly

well I pulled the engine out of the wife's car. I know I lost a head gasket but that was all I knew. well the good is the block is OK the bad it got the head but it can be welded and fixed the ugly is the head damage not near as bad as it could have been and not near as bad as the last time with the S/C. Not to bad and it is a easy fix. talking to my mechanist I think we are just gone to weld it up and file it down by hand if the head is straight so we don't have to take any more off the deck. If not I will fix them and sell them and bolt on another of the 3 sets I still have left. LOL But one set needs a valve job the other set I want to keep for my self and the other the pistons are not cut for but they still may work with the small cam we run. anyhow good to get this off my back. also the piston was not hurt and the bearings look good.

Thanks Mike.. I think... I am sure it wont be the last time running the boost as high as we do not much room for error. with this thing. But it sure do go and there is lots more left if I want to chase it but I am not. I maybe selling my Dart block and 347 forged stroker kit if you know someone looking. kit is brand new and the block is used and it is a Iron Eagle with 4 bolt mains on all the caps. sure would make your stuff safe with lots of NOS. LOL come on man step it up.. LOL I got something big and Nasty with even more Boost on my mind LOL. for my own car I want to run 8s LOL. just skip right over the 9s.

LOL He said a stash OF HEAD GASKETS LOL. I hope not hell it was 2 years this time before I popped one but only a few months with the turbo. LOL the tune is close though I think I may put it on the dyno this summer so I can tune it. just to be safe but I was not running straight Race gas the day it popped so that did not help things and I leaned on the boost pretty darn hard. PM sent

yes 10.37 but that was coasting for the last few and the MPH was way off only 125 compared to the 135 with the old cam I had let out of it. but it was 4 MPH faster in the 1/8 so that would have been 139 or more in the last half. Lets just say I think 140+ is easy to come. the boost was really probably not that high 18 psi or so I didn't see and didn't log it. I was watching the wide band. on that pass hell we was seeing right around 20 on the street. but this new cam with its negative overlap works much better and I should have not leaned on it that hard just starting out with it but we live we learn LOL yes spring should be easy this time if nothing comes up. check PM now
