AOD 0-60mph?

AOD 0-60mph?
This has probably been asked a hundred times but I couldn't find a thread on it after doing a search.
What sort of 0-60mph times do the '87-'93 AOD equipped GT hatches do? I'm talking factory stock times.
I am currently looking at purchasing an auto '91 GT hatch which is totally stock apart from flowmasters and the fact that the steering wheel is on the other side of the car (I'm in Australia and it has been converted to RHD).
I know the sort of times the T5 equiped cars can achieve but trying to dig up info on the AOD cars is like pulling teeth! I would prefer a T5 equipped car but finding one is like finding **** on a bull over here as fox mustangs are as rare as hens teeth all together (a couple of aussie colloquialisms for you ).
Even just some estimates on how much time it will drop as compared to the T5 will do, like half a second or a second etc.
Thanks,

I did Google cch, many times but alas no real figures. Plenty of info available on manuals just not autos.
Slow compared to what explosive, an '08 Vette or an '86 Corolla? It's all relative
Really a factory spec automatic 5.0L windsor that hits 0-60mph (0-97km/h) in mid 7s is quick by aussie standards, especially for that era. We didn't get many of the quick cars you guys have over there here in Oz. The fastest mainstream Australian V8 Ford of the time was the Australian Falcon which was powered by almost the exact same spec 5.0L windsor as in the fox, but being a large 4 door sedan (think Taurus) weighed at least 200lb more and it wasn't geared for acceleration. A manual was only good for high 7s, and an auto would be very lucky to crack an 8 flat.
The 5.0L V8 powered GM products of the time were a little quicker (they used an aussie developed 308cu not the 304 or 307cu chevs and were smaller and lighter).
Of course later versions which have sported up to 295hp from factory built windsors have done much better, but for the early 90's a sub 8 sec 0-100km/h was considered quick.
Thanks Slowstang357. I was hoping for a more exact figure though. I am assuming it will be in the mid to high 7s but am just looking for an accurate confirmation.

0-60mph times for stock vehicles http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html . This states that a '93 5.0L GT (automatic), took exactly 8.0 seconds flat.

in my opinion, you should plan on spending the money on swaping in a T5, or keep looking.
my car had ALOT done to it, the AOD has a stock stall, but a a MEAN shift kit.
even with all the bolt-on's, mickey thompson tires, ported head's, ETC, i ran a 16.1 1/4 mile (at 5800ft elevation, should be a high 14 at sea level)
my best 60ft time was 2.59 with no nitrous.
with a 50shot of nitrous, my 60ft was 2.08, and my 1/4mile was 14.28@91.8mph.
if my AOD was in better shape, i bet it would be around .2 in the 1/4mile faster, as of right now, i cant even go full throttle without feeling this thing slip.
a "built" T5 is coming soon.

302army187 thats probably what I would end up doing because I am really after a manual for the fun factor since it would only be a toy and not my daily driver. It's just the particular car I can get my hands on is in such good condition and is just get in drive away, no hassles. I probably will just wait and keep an eye out for exactly what I want. Still it doesn't hurt to find out what the AOD cars are capable of.

i found a white fox body convertible, about 99% stock, only had a catback from what i could see, and had the 5speed.
price was a tiny bit cheaper then what my car was.
my car came with ALOT of mod's, almost all the "bolt-on's" you can put on these car's, aftermarker upper and lower intake, the paint was better, the top dident have a tear in it, like the other had, aftermarket rim's, etc etc etc etc.
so i went with my car, ive had the car a year, and before i put nitrous on it, the only issue the AOD had, is it would kick out of 3rd to early, up into overdrive even with the shifter in "Drive".
i beat the car WAY to much, and had no issues.
after the nitrous, not even using it that much, the AOD is TOAST.
i really don't think it will last 6 more months even with no nitrous, and babying the car.
i wish you luck, these are very fun, cheap car's to mod.
i imagine you will be paying through the nose, as you might have to ship a lot of things from over here, but you wont be disappointed.
