Default Gear Swap Question

I'm debating between going with 3.73's or 4.10's.

My question is how much lower will each make my gears?
I usually cruise along at about 2-2.5 grand at about 25mph in 2nd, 35mph in 3rd, and 45mph in fourth, Give or take.

i think its liek 10% difference going from 2.73 to 3.73 and 5% more upping to 4.10's. that should give you an idea.

4:10's all the way IMO. Absolutely adore them in my car. Good luck Bud!

Perhaps I'm only causing toil upon myself by saying it. But IMO I'd have to say 4:10's are the "optimal" (there's that word..), gear. If you're running a high hp application and have an aftermarket tranny such as the tko600 or t56 (standard speaking, I'll be the first to say I know nothing about automatics), you'll have a high first gear and will be looking for that low "kick in the pants" rear gear to make up for it. Mind you I'm talking for street cars. And if you have a low hp application, such as I, with a stock motor you're still looking for anything to make the most of what little power you have, so once again, 4:10's seem to do it.

3.73's, 3.90's and 4.10's really bolis down to your combo IMO! ...I've always been a fan of the 3.73's on a Fox...with my '03 Cobra & a 2.66 1st gear in the T56, I'm stepping up to 3.90's next year!

I'll 6th the 4.10's . I know I'm auto, and not as modded as anyone on here lol, but you may as well go 4.10's. It's like a 1/4 turn of the drive shaft more than the 3.73's, so it's kind of a "do it right the first time" thing lol. Just my .013 Canadian cent's .

I'd never use that word on the forums, too many people everywhere who like to debate what is optimal.....even when it boils down to making a choice what to eat for dinner.....lol
