Default New To 5.0s-engine ideas/suggestions

Hey all-I'm on my first mustang build and got a few questions. I've had two awd dsms, single cam turbo hatch, modded gtp, but I've always loved the sound of a cam'd 5 liter, and had the opportunity to pick up a shell for cheap and an engine as well.

Here's what I had in plan for my budget build for the spring:

Stock 5.0 Shortblock
GT40 Heads
E303 Cam
Professional Products Upper/Lower Intakes
Valvetrain of some sort, still researching
Pro-m Maf
24lbs injectors, car already has bbk 190 fp

I've got two questions-

Will the 24lb injectors be alright? I plan on spraying this motor

Is there another cam that would suit this combo better? I've been looking around but haven't found some answers yet.

Still new to this, as I came from dsms. So, if something breaks on this project, its no biggie b/c my dsm never ran great or good, it was just "running" and I won't complain if the fox does the same thing

Thanks guys

Welcome, I built my teachers car last year, an AWD DSM, the 5.0's are so much easier !!! and a lot more room to work, that car was such a pita.

I would use something other than an E-cam...if you plan to use an ots cam a tfs stage 1 is okay, just remember a cam swap requires spring change. of course there is always the cutom cam route too to max potential

Instead of buying a part here and there here would be the cheapest route and it comes with everything but the oil and filter. You will save money in the long run. I kept one of these kits in stock all the time. It's a really nice kit and makes nice power with 3:73 gears. Always over 310 at the wheels.

I'd really like to have that kit, but right now I'm on a budget, but I've got my eye on that kit for summer if I run into the funds.

I had a set of brian crower regrinds in my 03 tiburon, and I had no complaints whatsoever. I've thought about getting ahold of him for a grind.
