is there anything you havent owned or tried or installed portmaster?
You have to remember that I was born into garage life. I came of age during the Muscle car era and I've always been exposed to speed parts, cars and such. While a lot of these things seem very rare and exotic now it was mostly trial and error junk back in the day. I've spent thousands of hours at swap meets, car shows and loved anything differant. When you combine 50 years of being in the thick of the this industry you get to see a lot of stuff. I had one of the few true speed shops in my area that sold parts, installed them and did the machine work. People would bring me stuff that was just oddball things and want them installed. Because some of the stuff was just really far fetched and wierd I wouldn't do the install because I had no knowledge or information on it to tune it. I would end up giving them a few bucks for it just to put it on display.
People would bring in stuff that they drug out from under grandpas work bench that I had never seen. Before the internet and ebay this stuff was cheap because nobody wanted it. When you spend everyday of your life in this business you never get to see it all but you get to see a lot, do a lot. I've driven just about everything from a Ford GT40 to a Sabb Sonnet. My Father was into exotic cars and anything fast. He use to take me out in his MGTD and work the pedals while Idrove the wee out of that thing. He would take me out on his Harley and while he worked the foot clutch and brake because I was only five I drove it and shifted it like I had been riding for 20 years. But yeah, Ive seen a lot and installed a lot of stuff over the years. I never made that much money but did I ever have a good time.
