Angry AOD to Manuel swap

I just spent 2300 $$ to put another AOD in my 91 GT
I'm wishing I would have spent the money on a swap kit
( AOD to used T5 1599 $ )
The reason is the AOD still wants to drive away from a stop without touching the Gas , Trans man says its the high idle (dash tach says ~
750 rpm , Is this too high ? ( Cam ,Twisted wedge heads ,roller rockers
75 MM TB )
If I have to hold brake isn't this bad for Trans ??
Also coming down to a stop it feels like a manuel trans
when you don't clutch ( clunking in rear end and sometimes kills
motor ) I thought the Rebult AOD would not havethese issues but
DUH, I ASSumed and Now I'm the a** with same issues and 2300
less to spend .
Can I get a steel Bell housing to fit both t5 and T56 Trann. ??
( swap now and upgrade later ?? ) or are they incompatable ??
As you can tell I like the Mustang a lot but Know nothing about
tuning on these things Thanks , RedmustangMan

Its an auto, its gonna move on its own without touching the gas. Your mechanic is stupid if he doesn't know that, He just wants your money. Is it bad to hold the brake, no its made for it.
Did a torque converter come with the new trans? That may be the stalling issue when comming to a stop.

All autos pull themself a little without any gas, thats just the way it is, on all cars.

750 rpm is fine for idling.

Sometime I shift to neutral at lights when its really cold out and the engine/tranny are not warm yet. It likes to drop my idle way down when cold lol.

Cool

The Only Self engaging brakes I Know of are also called Guardrails,
Light poles (done that one in a CRX ,Backwards ,dead center , 65 MPH
[ no I wasn't on Fire .. LOL] .
But I digress , when I say drives away I should have said Launches ..
a Bit too much ( sometimes almost too much for the little brakes on that Pony ( another upgrade needed ) and yes the Converter came with the
tranny. add to That the fact there is no 2nd gear selection (B&M Hammer
shifter ) you don't have much to say about when it shifts , it shifts when it damn well pleases . Also Ive heard that the TV cable has to be adjusted right or good by tranny. (My Mech. [ who used to build my race tranys for 1/4 mile dirt circle track car back in the day] bought the gage setup to set it )it IS diff then where it was when I got the car and tranny lasted 2 months .
and I have a 100,000 3 year guarantee on this one . Question is do I
want to drive this for 3 years (no)
T-5 swap Good / bad what do you Guys think ???
Can I get a SFI steel Bellhousing that will work with t5 and t56 ???
I'm leaning toward road racing rather than 1/4 Drags so I like the idea of
Knowing what gear your going to be in at any given time ( auto downshift in middle of corner baaad , LOL )
You Guys all Have some cool rides so you've probably have been down this road or Know someone who has , what'a you think ?
thanks , Redmustangman
