MPG's will hardly change unless all you do is highway miles.

...Go with 3.27, 3.31 or 3.55's and you still get good gas mileage!

I was thinking about that too down the line. I am not worried about the gas mileage.
I have the stock 2.73's
What should I do with? The only other thing that would need to be done is the speedometer right?

yeah, the gears (you'll have to buy bearings and some gear oil. Shims should come with the gears) and the speedo gear and your done. (minuse the learning to drive with gears)

Do the 3.73s!! DO IT! lol. I debated on 3.55s and 3.73s. I got so many "the mpg difference is next to nothing...but the performance difference!" comments that I went with the 3.73s (that and the site I got them from didn't sell 3.55s from ford.)

When you get gears I'd recomend Ford Racing. But then again, I'm swapping my own, and its easier to do with FRPP gears...But I still recomend them.

If you do any kind of city driving/sitting in traffic in the morning, the 3.73s aren't going to hurt your over all mileage. You get better mpg city with them, you just lose some highway. Its a trade off, and the performance you gain is worth the lost highway miles. (in most peoples opinions)

How much harder is it to get a car with 3.73's to hook up than with the stock gears, and will I be screwed in the rain? Probably stupid questions, but I am curious.

3.73 gears will be a little harder to drive in the rain, but if you are smart about it, no issues.

As far a MPG go, I have 3.73 and some other work done and I pull 22-24 on the highway going 75-80 and ratting on it in between. I bet if I was nice to it, I could pull 25.

nice car.. with the gears you should me fine in the rain unless you drive like a mad man... itis not much harder to hook with the 3.73's. i had 273's and they spun more at the track than the 3.73's.. not sure why but it hooked better.

Hooking up all just depends on how heavy your right foot is. But as for the fun factor +1 for the 3:73's; it'll make you feel like you have a hundred extra horses.

I think i will probably take your advice come spring. My buddy is a transmission and gear guy so set up will cost me a case of beer probably, I have never set a rear end up or I would do it. So ford racing 3.73 it is then.
