Fix the odometer and get some GOOD data for next winter... until then you're just guessing.

I have noticed my 2.3 n/a daily driver (~115mile/day) drop roughly 2mpg (from 29-30mpg) during the winter months, but I can't positively conclude what the drop was due to... Could be in the tune...

Any of you guys look at the impact the ECT/ACT temps will have on fuel/timing calculations

Bill the most likely source in drop in mpg around here is fuel in that from Nov-MARCH I believe they run oxygenated fuel, I have an 81 jetta Diesel with NO ECM = all old school......and I have played with the injection pump timing to max mpg and in the summer months 50 -52 mpg and in the winter months 45-46 sometimes less...no matter what I do in the winter it's always less and right around when they switch back to the summer fuel here which is march/april I believe is when my mpg picks back up

I didnt know that. I also didnt know they used different blends of fuel depending on what time of the year it is...

sorta makes sense now...

Is this a Fox thing? I looked at a '94 3.0 Taurus today, and the A/C compressor does not spin with the defroster blowing hot air...

I will have to look at mine, but I'm pretty sure the compressor doesn't kick on either.

if the a/c does not have the proper charge in it then that part of the system will not work cause the low pressure switch will keep the compressor from activating

^ A/C works very well in hot weather, and the defroster works vey well too, hot or cold in the Taurus. Does the A/C charge need to be checked?
