cold weather mpgs...
anyone dd their 5.0s where it gets cold? its been on average 20-30 degrees out here in pa... today it was a whopping 40... damn near warm enough to drop the top... heh...
just sorta seems like the stang is chugging gas down.... I never really asked or thought of it, but how much more gas would a car normally consume in near freezing temps? I do let it warm up at least 5-10 mins, so I know gas gets used up there... I rarely run defrost cuz I know that runs the A/C compressor to blow warm DRY air on the windshield, I dunno, I may just be parinoid... its hard to calculate my mpg as the trip odometer is broken or jammed on my car, been like that since purchase..
and my driving is prolly 50/50... 50% highway, 50% city...
the car has the typical bolt ons... new plugs, not throwing any codes... was just inspected and nothing came up on the computer when they plugged it in...
any input would be cool, I'm just wishing for warm weather... I miss droppng the top everyday coming home from work... worlds best stress relief...

I was averaging about 20-24 mpg in the summer... I think Ive got 3:08s compared to the '86s 2:73s.. I have to double check my door code... now I'm prolly in the teens... which isnt too bad considering all the ethanol crud they put in gas now...

they used 2.73s, 3.08s, and 3.27s from 86 to 93 so check you door tags

You don't get as good gas mileage with the additives in it. Also you may notice on the pump a sticker that says contains 10% ethanol. That will hurt your mileage some. Just about all of the stations around here are sell gas with 10% ethanol. A colder engine needs more fuel.

I hate this ethanol crap... dumbest idea imo... "hey lets add something to the gas that makes it less efficient...
my roommate hates the stuff worse.. his '68 camaro with 80K on it... runs like crap with this ethanol stuff... (its an all original 327, only thing thats been changed on it was the plugs wires and it got a new dizzy some time in the '80s...
at least that only sees maybe 1-2000 miles a year
