Default 88 GT question

Hey,

NEw to the forums, and new to the mustang world. I am currently looking at an 88 GT, and I wanted to see if the asking price was fair. Here are the specs

88 gt
vortec supercharger
47,xxx original miles
cam work
body is in great shape
clear title
needs to be tuned

he is asking 6k for it...is that a fair price

thanks

I payed $3500 for my 88GT. It had less than 10K on rebuilt motor and trans. I bought it as a 12.90 car. He wanted $5800 at first then we got him down to $3500. Anything you can spot wrong with the car get the seller to reduce the asking price for it...for example the car needs a tune, see if he will drop $500 off the asking price because it needs a tune.

It all depends on how good the body and interior are. If it is a really nice car it may be worth it. Keep in mind 6k is his asking price not hiss selling price. Also i find it hard to believe a car that old only has 47k on it. It may have 147k.

...seems a little high, run a CARFAX (for the mileage), perhaps post some pics!

Seems like a fair price given the fact that its SC and has 47k original miles, I've seen 5.0's with higher but still low mileage go for more than that.

Definitely get a CARFAX to verify the mileage, 47k original miles, you don't see that often with fox bodies.
