what years are gt40 and whats the p's on . my sister has 98 explorer and im tryin to talk her into sellin me heads and intake set up and ill put my heads off my stang on her explorer . i dont think she gonna go for it but im still tryin lol. and also jus wondering how much of a defference are there inbetweeen gt40's and gt40p's

try to get the cats too. I believe those are about 400 bucks sold for scrap. I know the 97 model is.

haha nah cant go and do all that . cuz its a nice explorer and she drives it every day . if i went cuttin sht off it she might get lil pisssed lol .

you can find the p heads on ford explorers from 97 to 01. they have a p casted into one of the corners of the heads and also another easy way to identify the p heads is that they have four marks on the front of the heads. I went with the 1.6 rollers and e cam. I am pretty pleased with its performance being a street car. I have ran a 13.3 at the strip with just street tires. So I am sure it would be an easy 12 second car with some good tires that can get a little grip off the line.

ok a couple more questions before i start ordering parts. I need to get new head gaskets, would FelPRo 9333PT1 work? its the stock gasket for 90 5.0's, or do i need it for the 98 explorer? Also, head bolts, do i get stock 90 headbolts or 98 explorer bolts? Also, gaskets for the intake manifold, are they for the 98 exlplorer or 90 mustang? its just all these little things that will make things go together easier. thanks

I need to know too. What is the difference between the 40's and the 40p's other than the plugs being strait on the p's. Performance wise.
