Default buddy is looking for a roller got some ?'s

Hey is about to sell his 97 t/a hes got a couple of offers for around 5500-6000. anyway he wants to get a 5.0 since they are way cheaper to mod. I told him to look for a roller since he wants to turn it into a drag car and run high 10's with it. Any ways hes concerned about making the power to get there and keeping the car on a budget. We have found a few rollers with solid 8.8s along with built c4's. I told him that he should just go with a 351w since its going to be able to hold more power and that it will be easier to make the power. What kind of setup does he need to get into the 600hp range? A stroker with a mild set of heads and a healthy cam? Hes looking to go on a budget so i told him that he should contact woodsy at fordstrokers for a block but what type of heads should he run he wants to keep away from the big stuff like afr's and tfs hiports? also what size stroker would any of you suggest 392,408,
