Anybody know any sites to get a descent inexpensive cowl hood? 1.5" to maybe 2.5" rise. Also any opinions on bolt on vs lift off? Thanks

usually lift-offs are cheaper than bolt-ons. the only problem is anytime u want to get under the hood u gotta lift it off and if you dont have any help its a big pain in the butt. upside with lift-offs is you can get rid of the hood hinges and save a pound or so

About the cheapest hoods out there I think are from Champion Fiberglass hoods. They are cheap let me tell you. If you are looking for a OEM quality finish, you can't go the cheap route. But if you are looking for just a cheap alternative for a factory hood with an ok fitment then Champion will be OK for you. I bought a bolt on hood, it fit like garbage. I ripped it off the car by my oversight. Ended up being a lift off hood because I didn't want the same thing happening again so I went with four corner pins, but it looks good for the most part.

you get what you pay for with fiberglass parts. low buck will give you low quality parts. heck even some of the more expensive stuff is junk.

a lift off hood on a street car is asking for a street car with a stolen hood... well, at least where I live... damn rednecks/ wanna-be bloods will steal damn near anything they can get...
