thats true. i never thought about how they weigh the vehicle before and after.

i always wanted to stop at one of those weigh stations you see on the highway where all the trucks have to stop when the lights are flashing, but i fig'd the state troopers would give me **** about it.

I haven't weighed it lately but the last time I did it weighed 3199# with about a 1/2 tank of gas, full leather interior, stock body panels, stock k-member. As for weight saving I have an off road h-pipe and that was on my Prostars (I think I didn't have the spare tire and jack then). I have since put in an aluminum block, that should have me around ~3150# for the car. I'm 200# so my race weight is around 3350#

holy CRAP your hatch is as heavy as my 'vert!

my car was 3550 with me, im 245, no jack&tire, no passenger seat(50lbs right there), but had a full nitrous bottle which is about 28lbs

damn man, you need to shave some weight off that thing!

haha, i dont think my 'vert is that heavy anymore!

btw, if it helps.

you can shave 40-65lbs with racing seats

40lbs with aluminum heads

20lbs from a after maket hood

removing the ac should save 30-40lbs

aluminum driveshaft is 5-8lbs saved

My driveshaft is quoted to save 12-15lbs of rotational mass. More than that it made the car feel instantly "snappier" and more connected. A good cheap mod IMO. I also removed the power door lock actuators which were on the outs anyhow. They weigh a lot for what they do...
