its cool. now since you ordered the one with 31 spline call them and tell them what happened they should fix this mess for you. if you dont want to go through the trouble of waiting for the new rear to arrive again then i would get the difference back in the money you spent cause arent the 31 splines more expensive? and then return your axles and get a nice set of 28 spline and you wont have a problem

Whats funny is they are the same price and whats even more weird is the 3,55 28spline is 1500 dollars compared the 875 dollars for the one i have. O and i only paid 750 for the rear no tax and got it at list not cost it nice working at a shop with that kind of privilege.

yeah i worked at a ford dealership that sold ford racing products and installed a lot of it. i had the same discount as you and your right it makes no sense why the 3.55 is so much more

But the internals of the rear are 28spline 3,73 not 31spline 3,73. My rear is still in the car the one with 2.73 its realy not worth to rebuild so i bought a hole new one to do the install my self I know for a fact i saved some money. sorry for the mess up
You could have rebuilt that rear for less than half of what you spent. You didn't need a new housing.

The diameter is larger on the 31 than the 28. By quite a bit.
