So I picked up my rear end from ford today I was so happy. Got the rear home and take off the diff cover to inspect it every thing looks good, the right gears 3,73 and so on i go to my room to grab one of the 31spline axles to see if its wright I slide it in and it will not fit. The part # on the rear is the same as my recent and on line frpp.com. The dumb *** people who built the rear are stupid they put the 28spline trac lock in there, what do they hire people from taco bell or what. This rear cost me 1000 dollars. So should I just put the 28splin axles in from my old rear or should I take the rear back to get the right one?

if you told them you wanted 31 spline and they put the wrong one in then they get to do it all over again for free

I have been planing this build for a month now have all the right parts really want to put the rear in on sunday. I will have to wait like 2 weeks for the right rear. do i really need 31spline axles?

no you dont need them but when you had them build the rear did you tell them you wanted a 31 spline diff?

You should definatley take it back, stuff happens, people screw up, ya it sucks but whatcha gona do?
Took me 2 months to pull my rearend, disassemble and have a shop rebuild it for me

i am just going to put the 28spline in and take the 31spline back and get my 250 dollars back owell

Ok bro I ordered the rear from ford lincoln mercury AKA a ford racing performance parts dealer. Its a pre built rear end from frpp i got the one with the 31spline trac lock and the axles, the axles are separate. I guess they put the wrong sticker on the rear (parts #) on the axle tube. But the internals of the rear are 28spline 3,73 not 31spline 3,73. My rear is still in the car the one with 2.73 its realy not worth to rebuild so i bought a hole new one to do the install my self I know for a fact i saved some money. sorry for the mess up

dude, if you TOLD them you wanted 31 spline and they put in 28 spline I would be all over their *** until they made it right. Sh*t like that pisses me off so much. Not to mention, if you already have the means and parts to go 31 spline do it man, you wont' regret that, you might regret staying 28. my $.02.
