Default best AOD times!

I'm starting to think i might not have to change my tranny to achieve my 1/4 mile goals... I won't be able to run turbos like i really want to , but if i can run a decent time on bolt ons, suspension, tires and spray with my AOD, i think i'll be happy.

high 12's are a must, but i would love to see some low 12's or maybe even some high 11's?

So give me some ideas of what kind of times i can see with this aod! Please list your 1/4 times with your hp and/or mods.

and please mention if you have all or some of the following: manual valve body, stall, trans cooler, suspension and sticky tires.

Thank you so much for taking the time.

...won't be that hard to do with the spray or a SC...I'd get some 3.73's or 3.90's since 1/4 mile is your goal!

i'm putting some 3.73's in on friday! hopefully my clutches aren't worn out. When i first do a burn out it's a one wheel peel. After everything in there gets hot, however, the lsd engages fine. Doesn't that mean i need to put some heavier oil in there, or does that mean my clutches are as good as fried?

I ran a 13.17@105 in 92+ degree heat with my AODE. MY mods were TrickFlow H/C/I+ boltons, 2700stall, 4:10 gears, shift kit and cooler and Nitto Drags(only pulled a 2.01). I made 271rwhp and 311rwtq. In cooler weather I ran an 8.42@85(which equals about a 13.0 1/4). ALthough not 12's, an auto can run some decent times. With the blower I uprgaded my auto to a stronger 4r70w. My stock AODE, began slipping after three months with the Vortech.

i read somewhere that the aod is good for 325hp, so if you're running a 13.0 with 275, do you think a 12.5 is achievable with 325hp and some drag springs?

personally I'd run 4.10's and a 2500 -3000 stall and a shift kit/manual valve body upgrade to get that puppy off the line hard

clutches might be on the way out...either re-build or pop in a new carrier with the gear change!

+1 with the 4:10's for the aod. And ya, you should change to carbon fiber clutches fix the 8.8 all up and get rid of that onewheelpeel. No use having stickies if ya can't get umm sticky. Like having a 10" **** but erectile dysfunction!

my AOD started "slipping" after only a few bottles of 100shot.

100shot on the dyno was only 287hp and 358trq at the wheel. (a gain of 71rwhp and97trq)

at 4200rpm the graph would go from climbing, to hitting 0 and stay there for 200rpm, and then come back up and climb again.....

a BUILT aod would be fine...... it would be cheaper and easyer to just swap a 5speed in.

lentech's BASIC AOD is around $2600 (plus a good stall is around $700)

i payed around $2000 for all the parts for my T5 swap, with 90% new parts.

good luck.
