IM trying to build a 11second 5.0 street mustang

Hi every one. I'm trying to find the perfect build for a 11 second street car. I was thinking of a Stroker maybe 331 or 347. I already have Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Track Max Heads, I just need some ideas on a combination that might make the 11 second range achievable.

a 347cid short block will make your goals easier to achieve.

or easier done with a 351 w based motor

^^^^What he said. I find myself throwing rocks at my 347's performance and now wished I would of went ahead and put a 351w based engine in the car instead of the puny 8.2 deck. But it happens, hind sight is always best. Most of all is there always seems to be money to do things over instead of doing it right the first time.

If you stroke the 351w to 408+.... yep, I'll take the 347 stroker over a 351w (not stroked) any day..... http://www.familyfriendsfirearms.com...milies/btw.gif low 11's can be achieved with a correctly set 306 combo, and be 100% driveable....

a stroked 351 w based motor was what i was referring to..

Let me rephrase what I said. It's not that I'm unhappy with it, it's just the fact I want more, alot more. You know how the speed bug is. I have fought the urges off for years until I went to a drag race a couple of years ago. It was all down hill from there. I got completely out of cars and racing about 10yrs ago, got rid of everything except tools after the race I went to, I went home for a couple of days got on the internet and bought a coupe off of ebay and started my build from there. Every time I drive my car, I'm like yeah, this this pulls like a freight train. Then I go to work for 14 days and don't get to play and start pondering the idea of a larger displacement engine and how much more enjoyable it would be from the performance gains.

I, know how it goes, hopefully this is my last go around cause as fast as it'll be , it'll start to need more work to make it legal, so I just decided finally to be happy with where it is..or will soon be. i'VE LEARNED IF you don't pick a cut point, then it'll never stop and personally , I'd like to stop throwing money at it before I realize I have a pure drag car:)

When I started to build this car of mine, I told myself if I can get low 12's I'd be happy. Well, first rattle out of the box put me in the 11's. I got so excited when I read my time slip after I got it from the ticket booth I almost broke down in tears. I had way to much emotions running through me, next two or three deep breaths I almost dry heaved. I had to calm myself down. I am like you also, it won't be much more and it wouldn't be legal and once I get to that point, I really don't know what I am gonna do.
