Thanks of the info. I found the a picture of the intake like you said by searcing AU Falcon XR8 http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view The engine looks like it is straight out of a explorer except fot the intake is turned to the left. The intake is definatley looks like a explorer intake. The book mentioned a 331 cubic inch engine, which was basically a small bore 351 windsor, so is that different that the 5.6? Also I like your car.

Not sure what the 331cu engine is they refer to as it's only 5.4L. The stroker was marketed as a 5.6L but I'm not sure what the capacity was exactly. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a 347, it was somthing like a 340 or so I think. Sorry I'm not an expert on this.

The car in the link is the series 1 AU. I'm pretty sure it didn't have the GT40P heads, they weren't used until the series 2.

Maybe the book means the EL GT (1997 special edition). Is this a GT40 intakehttp://autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=0249. Scroll down until about mid page and it is the first pic under the Ford V8 section.

Thanks about my car. I must say I love the torque of the 3 valver, very grunty low down even though it doesn't have great outright power. I only wish we had some nice pony cars like the Mustangs over here. We make some great 4 door sedans but there are no stylish V8 coupes like the 'stangs. Unless you count the Holden Monaro, which was rebadged and re-nosed and sold over there (unsucessfully lol) as the Pontiac GTO. The new Pontiac G8 is the current aussie Holden 4 door sedan with a nose job.

BTW love the wheels on yours, really suits it.

Yes the first picture is a GT40 ''style intake,'' it looks identical to a explorer. Scroll down to the 3rd picture under ford engines for a better picture. Here is a GT40 intake manifold http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view?back. The 93-95 cobra, and the Ford explorer intakes are the GT40 style intakes but the upper intake is cast a little different than the GT40 intake in the like I posted. The GT40 intake has the cool look tubular upper. Also the new GTO was a failure here too. Thanks about my car.
