ha...ya i figured engine and tranny would be the most expensive parts so im opting to start on every thing else and give me some time to find a good deal from someones "troubled" times

+1 !!! There's no use in spending all your money on building a high horsepower engine if the rest of the car can't handle it. Within a month you'd blow the stock tranny and/or rearend plus your suspension wouldn't allow for it; then you'd be outta money to fix anything else and your high horsepower piece of sh-it would have to sit and wait for your tax return to come around. Start from the rear and work your way up. Just an opinion..

1st you need to figure out how much you want to spend then you need to come up with a goal for the car, hp or et goal. Then you need to come up with a setup that will handle that power.

if it's a 4 popper shell, best start collecting all the 5.0 stuff, like rear, tranny and suspension, decide what the end performance goal for the car is gonna be and that'll dictate what you need to do to the rest of the car

Figure out exactly what you want out of the car and sit down and build it on paper first. That way it will let you know if you can come in on budget. Figure out where you want the car to perform. Street, Street/Strip, Corner carver, track car, drag car and then decide how much money you are willing to spend. Don't forget to add in stuff like nuts and bolts, fluids, gaskets, outside labor and other stuff. Then when your all done add in 2000 dollars on stuff that will come up unexpected and you may change your mind and go out and buy a car ready built at 1/3 what it cost to build it.
