don't draw any conclusions about your set up until you get some runs with sticky tires

98mph is slow!!!! That trap indicates that you don't have much more left. What was the DA and altitude for the run. What was your '60 time?

where do you shift at? does 6000rpm at the top of fourth with 3.73 = 98 mph sound right?

buy an aftermarket tach.

What are you shifting at? 5 speed or auto?

What is you altitude at that track?

Don't burn street tires, the rubber rolls off and ***** up on the tires and make it harder to get traction....kinda like leaving on sand. When I was running my car at the track last year, I was running 13.7, then I got sticky tires and go it down to 13.5, then I messed with timing and fuel pressure and shift points between runs and got mine down to a 13.2. BTW, mine is a stock cam, stock ported heads and was a stock ported intake. I also picked up some time from going to the dyno and seeing where I made max HP, which was 4900 RPMs and I was shifting at 5500. I lowered my shift light to 4800 RPMs and I lowered my time 2 tenths consistently.

It will just take you some time, the first time you will always be disappointed.

sounds like sticky tire ftw. idk i was thinkin 98mph was slow for that set up too, but idk. i got a 13.8 at 103mph launchin at 1000rpm, lil tire spin, and just grannyin it thru 1st. 2.2-2.3 60 ft times on street tires. any idea how much i may be able to cut that down with some drag radials?

the way you run on street tires:get into the middle of the burnout box and put your trans. in 2nd rev the motor and dump the clutch and don't let off until you hear them squeal a little and then pull up to the tree. rev the motor up around 2000-2500 rpm and when the light turns green roll off the clutch.I was runnin bald 255's 16s on my car and I ran a 13.7 @ 101 with a lot less mods than you
