Track Times

Don't worry too much about the et right now. It's slow because of your tires and poor launch.
The engine should be making more power. 98 is stock hp.
What are you running for rear tire size? Or maybe your tachometer is not reading right.
I'm stock with 3.73's and a 235 45 17 tire. I shift at 4800rpm and run through the traps at 5000rpm which is 102mph.

doesn't matter in my case , wanna know why?? casue before it had stock e7's and I had the ported ones laying around so I did a cam swap and heads at one time and the et was the same before as it was after, now if I spent more time tweaking It may see a small advantage.

Yea I know you can have a better mph since I was runnin 101

pulling to 7k..now that's BS.....tires and your launch rpm play a factor...work on shift points and get some suppression parts
Sorry Pro, Didnt mean to put this in the wrong section, I thought I was under General.
Yes these are street Tires, and this was the first time running at the track. I didnt even care about what it did stock. I have driven many cars down the strip before and I have owned this one for 3 years, I know how to drive it. I just dont understand. This car will pull all the way to 7 grand like its nothing, but with the t5 and 3.73's it seems like there is so little rpm range left in 2nd and 3rd. I am going to look at MT Drag ET's on prostars this afternoon, I can get them both brand new for 150 so I might pick these up and see if it will make a difference.

Wow I missed that part of the OP. IF he is pulling 7k every pass, then most likely that is why he is performing so poorly. That car probably stops making power at 6k.

first of all........ tires......
im launching on the STREET at 3krpm with a 3.55 1st gear in the tranny, and 4.10's out back and hooking... (235/60/16 mickey thompson ET street radials)
i would REALLY get a dyno, see what it looks like, make sure everything it looking right, and then see where you make peak power.
you can also see on the dyno how off your tach is, tell him to take the run to 6krpm, and when he hits 5.5k look at the computer quickly to see what it says.
