Default Lowered 94 5.0. Tire rubbing.

I just put Steeda competition springs and Tokico D-spec shocks onto my 94 Mustang. The tires would be fine except in the front left wheel well, the plastic protector (not the fender) has a spot where it is pushed out towards the tire because of the windshield washer fluid container. The container goes down into the fender and sits just above that plastic protector. It's just close enough so that the tire rubs on it when i go over large bumps or take a sharp right turn. Now I know that i can get a new set of low profile tires to fix the rubbing but seeing how my tires still have a lot of life on them I was wondering if there is any other way to fix this issue?

maybe you can use a thin spacer from maximummotorsports to bring the wheel out a bit.

Well the drop was supposed to be 1 1/4 inch drop, I didn't actually measure the difference from before and after but it looks like it dropped at least that. The tires I have on the car are somewhat bulky but they are the correct size for the stock rims, they were put on brand new when i bought the car by the dealership. As for removing the windshield washer reservoir and cutting a hole in the plastic I'd rather not do that as that would let a lot of dirt and other crap build up behind it and I live in New England so the washer fluid comes in handy pretty often with all the salt and sand on the roads. If it comes down to getting new tires I don't have too much of a problem doing that since the ones on the car now are nothing special when it comes to performance but I'd rather use up the tread on the tires currently on the car before I get a new set.

If it rubs only on hard bumps then dont worry about it. Just slow down

you could get a heat gun, pull the inner fender heat up the resivior and try to reshape it a little so it doesn't stick out then put the inner fender back in
