Always good when you can find an obvious problem. I see someone slipped in a set of Federal Mogul pistons on yeah, lol

mustangsneverdie 03-06-2009 10:47 AM

o ok so that's what kind of pistons they are my brother built the short block are those pistons any good

mjr46 03-06-2009 11:53 AM

The seal power and Speedpro lines of Federal Mogul Pistons use the fat lightning bolt on top so they may be forged maybe not. They are decent pistons either way. Cetainly better than what TRW is putting out these days. I was having so many fitment issues with TRW even on stock stroke engines I stopped using them They use to build a great piston years ago and now they have gone to Chit.

o I do know that forged tho but I didn't remember what kind they were cause it was almost 4 yrs. ago:D

DId you pressure test it to find the leak or did you just start tearing it down?

mustangsneverdie 03-06-2009 10:13 PM

I was pretty sure that was what it was and which side it was so Ijust strted to tear it down. Even tho it's gonna take longer, it is still cheaper than buying a rad or water pump
